Owners Forum Luncheon

Join the CMAA New England Chapter and the SAME Boston Post for an update on the Commonwealth’s $2.3B MBTA Green Line Extension and the economic benefits that transportation-oriented development brings to the communities of Cambridge, Somerville and Medford, Massachusetts.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Janice M. Bergeron, President and CEO at RND Consultants, Inc., a veteran of regional transportation and development projects. Janice will be joined by John Dalton, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Green Line Extension (GLX) Program Manager who will provide a project update. Rounding off our panel is BLDUP, Inc. founder Noah J. Coughlin. Noah will share business intelligence and data analytics of mapped trends of activity along the surrounding GLX communities.

Speaker Bios:

Janice M. Bergeron – President and CEO of RND Consultants, Inc.

Janice has worked in the engineering and construction industry for 25 years with a focus in complex transportation-oriented development projects, providing leadership to project teams from inception through construction close-out. Having worked alongside the MBTA for a majority of her career, Janice brings extensive program and construction management, real estate, stakeholder coordination, environmental, rail planning, design, rail operations and construction services to a project team.  Janice held the position of Vice President at Kennedy/ Jenks Consultants and Project Executive at Gilbane prior to founding RND Consultants, Inc. in 2018. She has held leadership roles in the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), American Public Transportation Association (APTA), American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus, Massachusetts Women Workforce Council, and the South Shore Chamber Transportation Task Force. Janice holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Suffolk University.

 

John Dalton, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Green Line Extension (GLX) Program Manager

In 2016 John was recruited by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to oversee the $2.3 billion Green Line extension to the communities of Cambridge, Somerville and Medford, Massachusetts. John is a former Vice President at ARCADIS and Program Manager at Parsons Group International Unlimited. He was the deputy program manager on a $7.6 billion rail project in Dubai and oversaw a $203 million, 42-month construction project for the Chicago Transit Authority from 2002 to 2007. John’s experience overseeing large, complicated transportation projects made him an ideal candidate to provide oversight of real estate acquisition, stakeholder management, procurement, design and construction for 4.5 miles of new Green Line track, structure, signal, power delivery and communications. The program foresees the construction of 7 new rail stations, road and traffic improvements, the construction of a new 55,000 square foot Vehicle Maintenance Facility and the procurement of 24 new Green Line rail cars. John oversaw a $203 million, 42-month construction project for the Chicago Transit Authority. He served as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy and earned his MBA at DePaul University in 2005.

Noah J. Coughlin, BLDUP, Inc. Founder

Noah founded BLDUP, Inc. in 2009 to provide a central clearinghouse for new development and construction projects online. Working with a team of data scientists and research analysts, Noah has created a business intelligence and data analytics platform that can map trends of activity in different neighborhoods within the Boston market.  BLDUP provides an efficient yet powerful digital platform for AEC companies to be highlighted for new work. A leading source for information in Boston, BLDUP is actively raising capital to grow this model throughout the United States.  Noah is originally from Middleboro Ma, a graduate of Tabor Academy and Manhattan College 2002 where he studied Finance and Computer information systems. In addition to piloting BLDUP, Noah also spends time as a coach and mentor for challenged inner city youth. Noah calls Boston home enjoys spending time with his dog Honey when's he's not working or exercising.
